UCI BMX Supercross #1, RSA Pietermaritzburg

The World Cup Season kicked off in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa!!

After our camp in Chula Vista and the race we did in Phoenix, I felt comfortable and confident for this first world cup! Some how in the prep week before the World Cup I started to have some problems with my pedals, I pulled my feet out of the pedal right after the first crank (which are really important in the BMX Scene). We thought that we fixed the problem but when practice on the  track started, it wasn’t fixed and maybe even worse. I tried to keep my head cool and focus on the race but that didn’t work out quite well!!

I was losing confidence every minute I spend on the track, so you can imagine I was totally done with it.. Messed up my time trial heat by clipping out 3 times in 1 lap.. I didn’t even care anymore and now when I look back on the weekend I know I already lost the race feeling there!! From then on I tried to get the best out of it and crashed in semi’s and did not qualify for the main!! Like I said I know were the problem in my head started so I know what to fix and then its up the the staff and my mechanic to get that pedal issue fixed!!! Looking forward to the next race… focused and more prepared!!!!

Camp USA

After 2 camps in the South of France it was time to our 3rd camp in preparation for the 2011 season that is coming up fast! We left on the 23th of February so we are here now for a week and a half. When we arrived the day after we went to Phoenix to test Redlines Project “79″ and had a photoshoot with our new TLD uniforms!!!

I had some jetlag problems for the first couple of days, but finally getting some sleep routine in! After a week of riding on the SX track at the Chula Vista OTC, we are slowly getting used to this type of tracks again. I think its good to have some extra time on this track before the season kicks off in Pietermaritzburg for the UCI BMX Supercross round #1!!
Besides that we are having a good time and training hard, there is not much to report. I will have some website upgrades in mind and it just a matter of time before they will be online. In mine opinion they are pretty cool, so keep checking out my website for the next couple of weeks..

2011 Trainingscamps St. Maxime

Already halfway February and halfway our second camp here in St. Maxime!!

Havent been updating in a while, but that will change from now on..

Dont know were to start but camp 1 here in St. Maxime was really good, didnt rode a bmx track since SX Frejus 2010 I guess! So its always go to be back on that little bike we all love so much, after a few days you get that feeling back and that is something you never forget. This year the preparation is a bit different then other years but it works out pretty good for me! If I compare this years camp with the same camp here last year Iv’e already improved a lot and I can feel my body is a lot stronger and can handle a lot more training which make sense of course!!! After spending here 10 days we went home for 10 days and now we are back here for 7 days so 3 more days to go!! Camp 2 started of with even better weather then camp 1, feeling good on the track and slowly start to get some leg speed and plyometrics in. Ill keep you updated..
